To meat, or not to meat. That is the question.

I watched The Cove the other day and it has completely infiltrated my mind.
So much so, that I’ve actually began reevaluating my own eating habits. The only meat I typically will eat is chicken and beef, with the occasional piece of bacon or lamb kebob. This is all mainly due to the fact that my father has chosen not to eat any animals aside from fish, cow, and chicken. As a college student he worked with animals and found a deeper connection to pigs, like he would have with a dog, and from that point on he hasn’t willfully eaten any pork product. I have to admit, I’ve never had the chance to experience a pig’s intelligence and level of emotion, so my disregard for pork is merely based on growing up in a pork-free home. But now, as I think about The Cove, I wonder about my meat eating habits.
My question: If I couldn’t kill an animal myself, do I really have any business eating it??
